Introduction
My work confirms the strength of the human spirit!
In my practice, I continually see difficult circumstances being surmounted. My adult clients typically are doing well, but are facing an important transition for which brief therapy is sufficient. Clients with difficult backgrounds can benefit from longer term therapy. I am there to listen without judgment, to facilitate communication, to bring resolution, to support, to challenge, to educate and to be an advocate.
Sometimes it is best to work with individuals; at other times, it is advantageous to work with couples or families. In addition, I use altered states (e.g. hypnosis and EMDR) in a safe way that consistently helps my clients through problems ranging from low self-esteem to major trauma in a highly efficient, effective way.

COMMON COGNITIVE DISTORTIONS
A List of the Most Common Cognitive Distortions
Beck and Burns are not the only two researchers who have dedicated their careers to learning more about depression, cognitive distortions, and treatment for these conditions. There are many others who have picked up the torch for this research as well, often with their own take on cognitive distortions. As such, there are numerous cognitive distortions floating around in the literature, but we’ll limit this list to the most common sixteen.
AUTOGENIC TRAINING
This method focuses on the body to achieve deep relaxation. It helps individuals to reverse the stress response and induce the relaxation response. Autogenics has been found to reduce hyper-arousal symptoms, and to increase self-control and self-regulation.
It is recommended that you practice this meditation 2-3 times a day. You may do this while sitting or lying down. If you are seated, straighten your back with your feet flat on the floor.
